Balls!!

Yes folks, that was the theme of this years annual "Rhoten" 4th of July party. Balls. All of the food that was brought had to be in ball form. And I'm happy to say the Carson's contribution to the event was very well liked, as usual. We are on a winning streak... 3 years ago it was "peanuts" and we got first place; last year it was "on a stick" and we got second place; and this year we took second place again with our Jello balls....(although it might have been due to pity votes... i played the "i don't even have a job" card when explaining the jello ball mold was $15!!!) anyways, we'll take it. Second place is still good in my book when you have close to 20 entries filling up my sisters kitchen from all of us. The party was really fun as always, and Joel entertained everyone with his crazy antics. The next morning we even broke out the slip-n-slide and showed Joel how it was done.... (a sure sign I'm getting old=my triceps were so sore the next day from slidin' i couldn't even lift him out of the crib!)

My parents brought fireworks from Nebraska, but Joel didn't like them :) He sat inside and watched them from the window

Next year's theme has already been decided.....BACON!! hmmm......
