The Carson Family: Vacation to Arizona Part 2

What do Arizona dogs do when they don't have bunnies or squirrels to chase??

Meet Charlie, the shadow chaser.

Charlie is John and Jamie's dog..... and he chases shadows. yes, shadows. Butterflies, birds, bugs, beanbags, you name it. If it makes a shadow when it goes across the yard, he'll chase after it. Nevermind the object three feet above his head that is making the shadow.....he will still run after whatever size shadow is trespassing on his yard. Here are some pictures of him on the shadow prowl.....

Charlie filled my "Doggy void" all week so i didn't miss Barkley too much. He also would swim in the pool....i wish i got that on camera because it was HILARIOUS.

Anyways, on with the vacation details.....

Monday the 25th: Today we just hung out around the house, and it was great. We swam, read, napped, laid out, and grilled. Joel got to swim for the first time. He really liked it, as you can see from the "wordless wednesday" post! We tried out the baby floaty thingy we brought, but he tried to eat it. Luckily he enjoyed just standing on the stairs and splashing.

We went for a walk around the neighborhood. this is what most peoples yards look like....rocks and dirt with cactus and palm trees.

Tuesday the 26th: We traveled to Sedona, Arizona for the day. It's a very cool touristy town (reminded us a lot of Estes Park) in the mountains. We went on a (very flat) hike and I held Joel in the baby bjorn the whole time. He loved hiking.....of course! It was easy for him! After the hike we ate at an authentic Mexican restaraunt and did a little shopping.
