Friday the 29th: Today was another "hang out by the pool" day. Joel got to swim splash one last time and we soaked up as many last minute sun rays as we could. We also climbed a small mountain that sat right behind John and Jamie's house. Even though it was small, it was still a mountain, and was like climbing stairs the whole way up the rocky sides. Now imagine doing that while carrying a 17 pound baby in the baby bjorn! Wish I could say I did it (i would have absolutely died!), but Scott used his big muscles and carried Joel up and down the mountain....he was awesome, and Joel loved it. At night we all went out to dinner at Horny Toads and then Scott went to an Arizona Diamondbacks game with everyone while I went back and put Joel to bed.
I have tons of great pics from today, so you get to see a lot of them!
Joel loved hiking....of course! He didn't have to do any work!
He even fell asleep on our hike back to the house!
Scott's incredible jumping in the pool skills. He and Tatum were performing for the camera.

Saturday the 30th: We had a really early flight back to Iowa. Everything seemed to be going well until they called Scott's name over the loudspeaker as we were walking to board our plane. Apparently we forgot my suitcase outside of the airport! It was just sitting on the sidewalk! Thankfully they brought it in, found the ID card and gave it to the airline. We were lucky they didn't inspect it for bombs, drugs, guns, or other terrorist shinanigans and i would never see it again! The bad luck continued after sitting on the plane still on the ground for 45 minutes. The defogger on the window was broken, so we had to go back inside, and board another plane. Plane number two had it's own problems, but two hours later, we were finally in the air. I was VERY proud of Joel who handled the delay like a champ! He fell asleep in my arms twice but was quiet and good the whole time.
I don't have any pictures of this day, because you would probably see 1)my pissed off face, waiting and wanting to get the broken planes in the air
2) Joels sad face after Scott had to change his dirty diaper on the plane, in the air, balancing on the toilet seat. I hear it was aweful
3) Jesse's confused face on the plane as Scott helped him with his Algebra homework he had to make up for being gone from school for a week.
You can make mental pictures of those things right? we don't need any proof.
As you can tell, it was such a great trip! Thanks for sticking around and reading all my details of our first vacation as a family of 3. :)
