Barkley Update

Took Barkley to the ISU vet today to have his leg looked at, and he's doing pretty well! The vet was very happy with how his left leg healed by itself from the ACL injury two years ago. He suggested we could try the "conservative management" on his right leg (he tore the ACL on his right leg on Sunday, in case you didn't see my weekend wrap-up post) and see how it does. He said we could always do the surgery at any point if we wanted to, but it didn't hurt anything to see if it would heal itself on it's own. Sooo... Barkley is strickly in his kennel for the next two weeks, except for potty breaks, and then after that we can start letting him out, supervised of course, for short periods of time. In 4-6 weeks we take him back to ISU to see how his leg is doing and re-evaluate the need for surgery at that time.... which is GREAT NEWS!
So, from now on....Barkley will not be performing as the circus dog you see below....

He will be a more cautious, conservative, calm, and careful Corgi....with two bum legs... but with all that's going on around here in the next few months....the quiet will be a good thing :)
